| Lebanese |
| The cuisine of Lebanon is the epitome of the Mediterranean diet. It includes an abundance of starches, fruits, vegetables, fresh fish and seafood. Expect more poultry and lamb than red meat on the menu, this however takes a backseat to fresh fish and seafood, Most foods are either grilled, baked or sautéed in olive oil; butter. The meals are full of robust, earthy flavors that focus on herbs, spices and the freshness of ingredients. Lebanese are proud of their chickpea dishes, hummus and falafel. Raw, pickled and cooked vegetables are consumed in abundance. |
