| Relatively newly opened and very stylish traditional Italian restaurant. Notable for yummy retro Italian food and restrained prices. Four different areas give this restaurant a cosy feel and a great atmosphere. What’s cooking? Pizzas are traditionally cooked in a wood-burning oven along with pastas and grills, all cooked using the finest seasonally available produce and complemented by some carefully chosen Italian wines. The house wine comes with a measuring stick so at Strada you only pay for the amount you have consumed. Free filtered water is offered to every table. Bookings taken noon-7pm. |

| The old-fashioned image of the Italian restaurant being all red and white check tablecloths, raffia-covered bottles of Chianti and meatballs and spaghetti has been transformed into extra-virgin olive oil, bruschetta, fresh basil and vine ripened tomatoes. Strada is the epitome of the young, fresh face of Italian restaurants. Entering this cosy space is like taking part in an Italian family reunion. The tables buzz with conversation while delicious smells waft from the wood-fired ovens. Do try one of their wonderful (and huge) pizzas with thin, crispy bases and a variety of unusual toppings such as wild mushrooms, mascarpone and tallegio or pasta dishes. |

Simple Italian food, generous portions and reasonable prices have meant the restaurant has been packed out since it opened. Although there is a "no bookings" policy, they offer pagers to customers who can then go and wait in the pub and be buzzed when a table is ready. |
